About Lori

Meet Lori Dreyer, LCSW

Sometimes the Most Important Step Is Simply Having Someone to Talk To.

Hi, I’m Lori.

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) serving individuals, couples, and families in Jefferson City, Missouri.

With more than 30 years in the field and over 16 years of clinical experience, I’ve spent my career helping people navigate difficult seasons, understand themselves and their relationships more deeply, and find healthier ways forward.

I believe therapy starts with something simple: a conversation where you feel safe enough to speak your truth.

You don’t have to arrive with everything figured out. You don’t need to know exactly what to say. And you certainly don’t have to have all the answers before beginning.

My role is to meet you where you are, listen without judgment, and work alongside you to understand what’s happening and what you want to change.

My Approach to Therapy

Therapy Should Feel Personal.

Every person brings a different story into the therapy room.

Some people come because anxiety or depression has become difficult to manage. Others are working through grief, trauma, a major life transition, or changes in their relationships. Couples may be trying to reconnect, communicate differently, or find their way through a difficult season. Families may need support understanding one another and creating healthier patterns at home.

There is no single path that works for everyone.

That’s why I take an individualized approach to therapy — combining clinical experience, evidence-based practices, and genuine human connection to create care that fits the person, couple, or family in front of me.

Experience You Can Feel. Care You Can Trust.

My professional experience has given me the opportunity to work with people through many different challenges and stages of life.

I bring more than 30 years in the field and over 16 years of clinical experience to my work, while continuing to build my knowledge through specialized therapeutic training.

What I Want You to Know

You don’t have to wait for things to become unbearable before asking for help.

You don’t need a perfect explanation for why you’re struggling.

And you don’t need to know exactly what you want therapy to accomplish before you begin.

We can start with where you are.

From there, we can work together toward greater clarity, healthier patterns, stronger relationships, and a greater sense of balance and well-being.

My hope is that Simple Conversations becomes a place where you feel comfortable being honest, supported in doing the work, and confident that you don’t have to navigate everything alone.

A SIMPLE CONVERSATION CAN BE THE BEGINNING OF SOMETHING DIFFERENT.

If you’ve been considering therapy, I invite you to reach out.

You don’t have to know exactly what to say.

Just start the conversation.
